Oprah Winfrey Success Story

During childhood, Oprah has gone through sexual molestation and abuse. She confessed to a constant episode of sexual molestation. It was a great relief for her. Oprah once said that we should not hide the darkest part of our lives. We often hide this part thinking people will judge us. 

Later on, she was sent to live with her father. Her father was disciplinary but motivating. She got inspired to do better in the school under his influence. She was listed on the honors student list in extracurricular. Oprah was granted a scholarship due to her excellent orator skills.   

Later on, Oprah went on winning The Miss Black Tennessee Beauty Pageant. After winning the beauty pageant, she got a part-time job as a news anchor at the age of 17 at WBAL. The day came when she was hired by WLAC TV, where she became the youngest TV anchor as well as their first black anchor.

Oprah got an opportunity to host the show, “AM Chicago.” It was an early morning talk show and soon became the most-watched show in America. After some time, that show was renamed as an “Oprah Winfrey Show”. 

This talk show became the most popular talk show in Television History. Oprah Winfrey Show has over 30 million American viewers and reaches 144 countries worldwide. Not only this, but Oprah also proved herself the most influenced spiritual leader through ‘change your life TV’ with 22million female viewers. 

Oprah founded her own production company called ‘Harpo Inc’ in 1986. Through this production house, she used to tell the stories which she thought were worth telling. Oprah became the authority in the history of entertainment. 

Oprah Winfrey’s show had been running from 1986 to 2011. Four thousand five hundred and sixty-one episodes were produced during that time. 

Oprah is also the richest African American of the 20th century and the first black multi-billionaire. She is also ranked the greatest black philanthropist in American history. She is also known as the most influential woman in the world.

Oprah received ‘Presidential Medal of Freedom’ award by Barack Obama in 2013.
