Who Is Admiral Hari Kumar. Radhakrishnan Hari Kumar PVSM, AVSM, VSM, ADC was (born on April 12, 1962) is a serving flag officer in the Indian Navy Team. He is the current Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS). Previously, he served as the Western Naval Command. In his prior, he served several appointments such as the Chief of Integrated Defence Staff, Chief of Personnel, and the Chief of the Staff of the Western Naval. He was the Commander of the Naval War College, which is located in Goa, and served as an advisor naval to the government.
Admiral Hari Kumar Personal Life:
He joined his 61st course of the National Defence Academy (NDA) in January the year of 1979; He completed his graduation from the NDA in the year 1981. In 1996, he attended the Naval Staff Course at the United States of America Naval War College Rhode Island. Although He also attended the Army Higher Command Course at the Army War College; and the Royal College for further Defence Studies in the year 2009.
He holds a B.sc degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University and did a master’s degree from King’s College located in London. He also had a postgraduate diploma in the shipping of management from the Narottam Morarjee Institute in Mumbai.
Career and Achievements:
Kumar was commissioned on 1 January 1983 into the Indian Navy. His positions included gunnery officer (GO) of the Rajput-class destroyer INS Ranjit. He also served as a formal executive officer (EXO) of Veer-class corvette.
As a commander officer, he commanded the Coast Guard Ship; the missile boat INS Nishank, the Rajput-class destroyer INS Ranvir, and the Centaur-class aircraft carrier named INS Viraat. He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal for his commanding and advising skills. Kumar’s wife’s name is Kala Nair, with whom he has an only daughter. He also enjoys swimming and has a hobby of playing badminton.
