Deverakonda Vijay Sai (born 9 May 1989), also known as his Vijay Deverakonda is an Indian actor and film producer, especially in south Indian films.
Deverakonda made his first Telugu debut with Nuvvila in the year (2011). He received huge praise for the films Yevade Subramanyam (2015) and also Pelli Choopulu in the year (2016). He published himself with the blockbuster lead role of Arjun Reddy (2017) and gained further success in the year 2018 by starring in Mahanati, Taxiwaala, and many others, all of which became the highest-grossing Telugu and Tamil films of 2018.
Vijay Deverakonda also owns his production house by himself, King of the Hill Entertainment which had its first release with his co-star Meeku Maathrame Cheptha in the year . In the same year, he featured by Forbes India in their total 30 Under list. He became the most searched South Indian male celebrity according to Google’s annual report.
Deverakonda was born and brought up in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, his father Govardhan Rao, and his mother Madhavi. His family belongs to Thummanpeta village of Mahbubnagar district (Now Nagarkurnool). His father was a director in a small television serial. He quit doing them due to a lack of success and loss of his production. Devarakonda studied in Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School which is a boarding school till 10th grade in Puttaparthi. He completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree. His younger brother, Anand, is also an actor.
A career in Film Industry
Devarakonda’s first lead role was in Pelli Choopulu. It is a romantic movie coming-of-age film that was directed by Tharun Bhascker. The film became successful at the box office and won the Best Feature Film in the Telugu industry. Also won the best Filmfare Award, Telugu at the 64th National Film Awards. Vijay has also been portrayed as a self-destructive, short-tempered, and alcoholic surgeon won him awards like the Filmfare Award for Best Actor in Telugu. In the year 2019, the Film Companion ranked Devarakonda’s performance in Arjun Reddy as the “100 Greatest Performances of the Decade”.
