KL Rahul is an Indian cricketer born on 18 April in Bangalore. He belongs to a family of academic background. While his father Mr K. N. Lokesh is a professor at university. His mother Rajeshwari is a professor at Mangalore University. As a child, he was loved playing cricket. His father was a cricket enthusiast who loved the game of Sunil Gavaskar. He started playing cricket at the very young age of 10. He played for Bangalore United Cricket Club and his own Mangalore club. He got his early schooling from NITK English Medium school He then moved to Bangalore at an age of 18 to study at Jain University and move on with cricket as his focus.
He made his Test debut in the year 2014 at Melbourne Cricket Ground. He was presented his test debut cap by MS Dhoni. In his debut match, he substituted Rohit Sharma. His initial performances were not so great. He played substandard on his first match and could only make 3 runs in the first innings. In his second innings, he made only 1 run. He was trusted by the authorities and was placed at Sydney Test. In this test match, he made history with his 110 maiden international records.
He was then selected for the 2016 Zimbabwe tour. He made his One Day International (ODI) debut at the Harare Sports Club against Zimbabwe. He made his debut century. He was the first Indian cricketer to have scored a century in his debut ODI match. At a later time, he made his T20 International debut during the same tour. He too had faced his challenges in life. He was engaged in a controversy when he and another Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya attended a talk show Koffee with Karan, hosted by Karan Johar. He was suspended for few months by BCCI. He came back stronger after the suspension got lifted. His comeback was stronger. He came from a small town with million dreams, he chased them and achieved them. Currently, he plays for Kings XI Punjab.
