Olympian Ravi Kumar Dahiya has a silver medal to his name in the recent Tokyo Olympics 2020. He received this silver medal after defeating Russian opponent Zavur Uguev. This wrestling star comes from the interiors of a village in the state of Haryana. His father who used to deliver milk walking more than 8- 10 Km a day, helped him to plan his wrestling diet for many years.

Ravi Kumar Dahiya started his journey in wrestling in his teenage. This is not the first time that she has won a silver. In the 2015 Junior World Wrestling Championships at Salvador de Bahia, he won a silver medal in the 55 kg freestyle category. In the coming years, he had participated in many competitions and won them. In 2017, he got injured. This injury lasted for more than 1 year. Right after one year, he won a silver medal at the 2018 World U23 Wrestling Championship. The event took place in Bucharest. He was the only one who brought India its only medal in the Men 57 kg category. Even in the 2019 Pro Wrestling League, he was undefeatable.

In the 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships that took place in Xi’an, his world ranking was fifth. He worked extremely hard to be placed at Tokyo Summer Olympics. He had achieved consecutive gold medals in the 2020 and 2021 Asian Wrestling Championships, which took place in New Delhi and Almaty respectively. His silver win in the Olympics is considered to be a legendary win as he is only the second wrestler to have achieved this medal in this category after wrestler Sushil Kumar. In his semi-final match, he was bitten on his hand by his opponent Nurislam Sanayev and he endured the pain and won the match. In the final match, he lost gold by 4-7 matches against Zaur Uguev. His performance is being widely celebrated throughout the nation. He is though not that satisfied with his silver win and has pledged to win gold, the next time.
