You do not need big resources, monetary transactions and a lot more kinds of stuff to start with an initiative. All you need to have is a gut full of courage and that’s it! That is what will take you to the zenith. This is the story of Karimul Haque. This is the story of an indomitable spirit and courage. This is His Story.
Karimul Haque is just like any of us, a bucolic man who had hardly received higher education. But the spirit within him makes him an asset to society. He is popularly known as Biker-Ambulance Dada. He hails from a nameless village in West Bengal. He belongs to a very poor household but he had something special in him. He would always dedicate his everything to help others in need. This quality grew within him and made him the person he is today.
In 1995, for the first time, he realized how fragile the health, communication and transportation system were in his village and the nearby regions. There was hardly any road in the village. In 1995, he felt helpless while his mother suffered a heart attack and he could not make it to the hospital on time. Out of a force of repentance of not being able to save his mother, he promised that he will not let anyone in the village die due to lack of transportation facilities. He did not have enough money to buy an ambulance but had enough innovative ideas to turn his motorcycle into a potential ambulance. He used his bike to carry a person who fell ill on the fields. He runs to the hospital with the man on his bike and successfully saved his life. Since then, he has been doing it and has covered more than 20 nearby villages, where he still helps people in need. He has a big family of his wife, two sons and their wives. He has been awarded Padma Shri in 2017 and has appeared on many television programs like Kaun Banega Crorepati.
