Srikanth Kidambi (born on 7 February in the year 1993) is an Indian badminton player. He is also a former world no. 1, Kidambi was awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth highest civilian award, in 2018, and also the Arjuna award in 2015. In 2021, he became the primary Indian to succeed in the globe Championship final within the men’s singles discipline.

Early Life and Education:

Srikanth Nammalwar Kidambi was born in Ravulapalem, state on 7 February 1993 to a Telugu family. His father, KVS Krishna, may be a landlord, and his mother Radha could be a housewife. His older brother K. Nandagopal is additionally a badminton player and junior national champion together with his brother. They were accustomed to boarding the identical house until 2008 and so Srikanth moved to the Gopichand Academy for continuing his practice.

A career in Badminton:

Kidambi finished as first runner-up at the year of 2014 India Open Grand Prix Gold event in Lucknow and it was also quarterfinalist in the same year 2014 Malaysian Open. He was a great part of the Indian badminton contingent that reached into the semi-finals.  He also reached the quarter-finals of the men’s singles event within the same tournament that was also held in 2014. In November, he created a significant upset within the final of the 2014 China Open Super Series Premier by beating 5-time World Champion and 2-time and also in the Olympic Champion Lin Dan in straight games that scored almost (21–19 21–17), thus becoming the primary Indian to win a brilliant Series Premier men’s title. Whereas  he then reached the semi-finals of the urban center Open Super Series after beating his competition Taiwan’s Chou Tien-Chen in an early round. Srikanth lost to Chen Long of China in three games in the semi finals in the year 2022.
