Roshni Nadar Malhotra, an Indian billionaire entrepreneur, is the chairman of HCL Technologies and the first woman to run a publicly-traded IT company in India, having been born in 1980/81. Shiv Nadar, the founder of HCL and a rich industrialist, is her only sibling. She is now placed 54th on Forbes’ list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2019. Nadar is the wealthiest lady in India, according to the IIFL Wealth Hurun India Rich List (2019). She is placed 55th on Forbes’ list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women for 2020.
Roshni Nadar grew up in Delhi, attended Vasant Valley School, and earned a bachelor’s degree in communication with a concentration in radio, television, and film from Northwestern University. She graduated from the Kellogg School of Management with a master’s degree in business administration.
Before joining HCL, she worked as a producer for several different companies. She was named executive director and CEO of HCL Corporation less than a year after joining the company. Finally After her father, Shiv Nadar, stepped down, she was named chairperson of HCL Technologies.
Her Humanitarian Efforts
Roshni Nadar was a trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation, which oversees the not-for-profit Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering in Chennai, before becoming CEO of HCL Corporation. She’d also worked on brand development for the HCL Group. Nadar is the founder and chairperson of VidyaGyan Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme for the economically disadvantaged. Although She founded the ‘The Habitats’ charity, which strives to protect India’s natural habitats and indigenous species to build and preserve sustainable ecosystems.
Moreover Nadar is a classical musician who has studied for many years. Shikhar Malhotra, vice chairman of HCL Healthcare, was the man she married in 2010. Armaan (born 2013) and Jahaan are their two sons (born 2017).
