Who is Ranjitsinh Disale?

Ranjitsinh is an Indian teacher at Zilla Parishad. He also teaches in Paritewadi, Solapur, a small village in Maharashtra. He was awarded the prize for his efforts to promote and support girl’s education in India and to initiate the QR textbook revolution. He gave half of the $ 1,000,000 to the 9 other finalists he nominated.

Global Teacher Prize

Varley Foundation pays the global teacher prize in equal payments over a period of 10 years. The Varley Foundation platform gives the winners a platform to promote and help with financial advice.

Ranjitsinh was chosen as one of the top 10 finalists from 12000 nominations and applications from 140 countries.

Early Life & Education

Ranjitsinh Disale had initially wanted to become an IT Engineer and had already registered at an engineering college. His father, however, decided to pursue his education in teaching because of a financial problem.

He found Zilla Parishad School (District Councils of India), in 2009, and it was a crumbly building that stood between the cattle shed and the storeroom. He changed the way he learned and his thinking about teaching.

An Inspiration

Ranjitsinh is an inspiration for all future teachers who want to make a difference in the education system. Because he believes that he can teach from the 20th century and students from the 21st century, he wants to revolutionize education. The modules were created in the 19th century, and the methods used are from the 18th. To fill this gap, teachers must bring about technological change. He introduced QR codes textbooks to India, with modern technology support such as audio poems, videos lectures, stories & assignments.

He has inspired many girls to get an education from tribal communities. His extraordinary contribution to changing teenage girls’ lives by avoiding teenage marriage was remarkable. Mr. Ranjitsinh Disale believes that only a collective effort can bring about a brighter future for the country.

Positive learnings

In his speech, Mr. Ranjitsinh disale only focused on the positive aspects and future possibilities of teachers. He stated, “The teacher in the world are real changemakers,” who transform students’ lives to a high-quality education. Change is essential for a fulfilling life. Students can be innovative by changing their lifestyles.
