Indian Cinema has provided its audience with outstanding actors and actresses. Likewise, the actors and actresses have in turn served its audience with enthralling cinemas. One such familiar name in the Indian Cinema is Rani Mukerji. Rani Mukerji was born on 21st March 1978 to Ram Mukerji and Krishna Mukerji. Her home town was in Kolkata, West Bengal. In 2014 she tied the knot with the Indian Filmmaker Aditya Chopra. She was featured in the list of Highest Paid Actresses of the 2000s.

Rani Mukerji marked her acting debut with the film “Biyer Phool” with Ram Mukerji, her father as the director. The film starred Prosenjit Chatterjee as the Protagonist. Since then, there has been no stopping. Her roles from various films have been cited by the media in a quite significant way, different from the roles women portrayed on screen previously.

Rani gained her first commercial success in 1998 with the action thriller Ghulam. She had her first breakthrough with the cult movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hain, starring Sharukh Khan and Kajol alongside. 2002 emerged to be the turning point of her career when she got to work with the Yash Raj Films production house for the film Sathiya as the star of the drama.  In 2018, she made her comeback appearance with the film Hichki as Naina Mathur.

Rani Mukerji as people rightly say is a recipient of not one but multiple accolades. She bagged several awards including seven Filmfare awards. Mukerji even won two awards from the Bengali Film Journalists association. With above one hundred and forty nominations on her list, IIFA also adds to the list.

She won the International Indian Film Academy Award four times, for Best actress in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Hum Tum and black and best-supporting actress for Veer Zaara. In 2011 IIFA has named her as one of the most popular entertainers of the decade. Since the time she has made her entry into the Film industry, she has surprised her audience with the strong roles that she portrayed.
