Ranganathan Madhavan (born 1 June 1970) is an Indian actor, screenwriter, and also a well-known director, and producer. He mostly appears in Tamil and Hindi films such as in Bollywood. Madhavan has won a total of four Filmfare Awards in South and three Tamil Nadu State Film Awards.
Madhavan gained huge popularity and recognition in Tamil cinema through Mani Ratnam’s successful romance film Alaipayuthey in the year (2000). He soon developed an image as a romantic hero with lead/ roles in two of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2001. He achieved further critical and also a huge commercial success in the film Kannathil. Muthamittal in the year (2002), Run (2002), and many more.

Early Life And Education:
In the year of 1988, Madhavan gained a scholarship at a young age. To represent India as a cultural ambassador from Rajaram College. Which is located in Kolhapur, and spent a year in Stettler, Alberta, and also, in Canada as part of an exchange program with Rotary International. He returned to Kolhapur after completing his education there, graduating with a degree of BSc in Electronics. During his college years, Madhavan became very much involved in extra-curricular military training. At the age of only 22, he was recognized as the leading NCC cadet in Mumbai, Maharashtra, which allowed him to make a trip with seven others as NCC to England.
Career And Achievements:
In early 1996, Madhavan worked on an advertisement for sandalwood talc which was directed by Santosh Sivan. Who later suggested him to Mani Ratnam to take part in the big screen test for a role in Iruvar in the year (1997). After Madhavan was auditioned for the leading role of Tamizhselvan amongst all other established actors.
Mani Ratnam eventually left him out for the project where he thought his “eyes looked too young” for a leading senior role. Before his film audition, Madhavan was spotted by a great television executive while he was out walking in Lokhandwala in Mumbai, and was recruited to feature in Hindi television serials, and Love Stories.
