Early life:

Ramesh Babu was born to Poor Parents in Bengaluru. Life has always been unfair to him. His father owned a small salon near Bengaluru. His father, a small salon owner in Bengaluru, died when he was just 7. Ramesh Babu’s mother worked as a cook to provide food for her family and to help them have a chance at life. She couldn’t manage the barbershop, so she rented it for Rs 5 per day. One meal per day was the only way for the family to grow up.

Becoming an Entrepreneur:

Ramesh chose to take over his father’s business instead of continuing his education in 1994. Ramesh entered the business without any resources but the determination to succeed. He utilized his family saving to renovate the salon, and he hired two workers to manage it. He named the salon “Inner Space,” which was located in a shopping center near his school. His admirable skills and customer-centric approach helped the business to flourish.

Ramesh always longed to own a car. He finally saved enough money to buy a Maruti Omni in 1997. To get the car loan, his grandfather had to mortgage his home.

He bought the car and intended to keep it for personal use. He soon began renting the car to others to pay off his loan. This was the turning point of his life. With the car rental business, his reputation grew. Ramesh realized the potential of running a high-end car rental business and started to build a fleet.

Mercedes India approached Ramesh Babu to purchase a mid-2000s model. This was an opportunity for him to save all his money and raise the rest through a Karnataka State Finance Corporation loan. Ramesh bought a Mercedes E-Class luxury sedan for 38 Lakh in 2004 and decided to enter the luxury car market.

Ramesh Babu Barber owns Ramesh Tours and Travels Private Limited, which now has a total number of 400+ minibusses and 127 cars, 27 of which are luxury cars, and 120 employees. His first driver, who he hired, still works alongside him today. This speaks volumes about his dedication to his employees. Ramesh still visits his barbershop every single day because he doesn’t want to lose touch with his roots.
