Luca Modric, the Croatian football player came to this world on 9 September 1985. He is famously known as a midfielder of Real Madrid which is a Spanish football club. He is also the captain of the Croatian National Football team. Modric is one of the most successful and talented footballers in this world. As he mainly plays as a central midfielder and sometimes as an attacking midfielder or a defensive one. People consider him as one of the greatest midfielders of this generation and the best player from the Croatian team.

Luka’s childhood was not so easy. Born in Zadar, Luka experienced the scary Croatian War of Independence and lost his family due to this. He stayed strong and kept following his dreams. And look at him now! The whole world praises him at present. He made his first football debut for Dinamo in the year 2005. In this tournament, he was given the title of Player of the Year for winning three consecutive matches. He kept on proving his skills in the years between 2008-2011. In the year 2012, Luka joined the Real Madrid team with a transfer fee of £30 million.

His presence in the team was a boon for the Read Madrid. He helped the team in winning the La Decima. The team was then selected for the Champions League Squad of season 2013-2014. His career statistics show that he won around seventeen major trophies at Real Madrid. This also includes their victory over the UEFA Champions League four times, two titles of La Liga, three FIFA World Cup titles, and one Copa Del Rey.

When asked about the specific titles won by Luka Modric, there are many. Starting from 2016, he won the “best midfielder” award in La Liga. In 2017, Luka again won the title of “best midfielder” in the UEFA Champions League. Luka also won the title – Golden Ball of the 2018 World Cup. Surprisingly he is also the first football player from Croatia to win the UEFA Men’s Player of the year Award. His collection of awards increases every year. How could someone even forget about his win for The Best FIFA Men’s Player and the Ballon d’Or awards? Luka Modric is has won the title of “ Croatian Footballer of the Year” almost nine times between the years 2007 to 2020. He truly is a natural talent.
