Francisca Luhong James, Miss Universe Malaysia 2020, was born on October 14, 1995, in Malaysia. She is a Malaysian model and beauty pageant winner. Miss Universe 2020 held in Florida, USA, was where she represented her country.
Childhood
Especially ames was born in Kuching, Sarawak, and is a cross of Kayan, Kenyah, and Iban, with Dayak ancestors. She is James Mering Bungan’s and Pauline Japok’s only child and the eldest of three siblings. She also has a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication.
2015 Miss Cultural Harvest Festival
James competed in Miss Cultural Harvest Festival 2015, an ethnic beauty pageant held each year during the Sarawak Harvest and Folklore Festival when he was 19 years old. She came in second as the competition’s second runner-up.
Malaysian Miss World, 2016
Moreover James competed in the Miss World Malaysia 2016 pageant and was one of the finalists. She finished in the Top 5 finalist spot at the pageant’s conclusion.
Miss Universe 2020, Malaysia
Although James competed in and won the Miss Universe Malaysia 2020 pageant in 2020. Sarawak’s only finalist. She won the privilege to represent Malaysia in the Miss Universe 2020 competition as the winner. Although On September 5, 2020, the 56th Miss Universe Malaysia final was held in Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
James was Sarawak’s eighth Miss Universe and the first Dayak woman to earn the prestigious title.

Especially On May 16, 2021, James competed in the Miss Universe 2020 competition in Hollywood, Florida, USA. Her trip was recorded in the Miss Universe Malaysia pageant’s history as the country’s 50th year of being unplaced in the competition.
