Coco Chanel – The Mother of Fashion Designing

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel, legendarily known as Coco Chanel, was a significant figure in fashion and style history as well as in the history of the 20th century.

Chanel was established in 1910. Chanel is the largest perfume purveyor in the world. It also produces designer clothes and accessories. Chanel is worth 18.5 billion dollars.

Gabrielle Chanel was born in Saumur on the 29th of August 1883, shortly after Chanel’s mother had died. Coco Chanel’s early years were difficult. Her mother died, and her father decided to give his children in adoption.

Her father sent her to a convent, Karez live in a religious institution along with her two sisters. The institute was sparing and firm. Gabrielle learned sewing at the age of 18. She also gained basic knowledge about how to make clothes. She soon left the convent to move to Mullins in 1908. She worked as a seamstress there.

She always wanted to be a singer, and she tried her hand at it while living in Vichy town. She realized that her voice was not very good and that she would waste her time. Destiny had other plans for her. Chanel was 23 years old when she fell in love with Etienne Balsan, a wealthy aristocrat.

Soon, she moved to a wealthy society. Chanel was able to make acquaintances with wealthy people and create a new social circle. Coco launched a boutique in Deauville selling stylish and fashionable clothes with financial assistance from Arthur Capel in 1913.

Her innovations made great use of jersey fabric. She was a pioneer in her field. Her fabric was a source of help to the masses during the First World War. Chanel opened her first Paris boutique at 31 Ruka bond in 1919. This is the centre of Paris’ most fashionable district. In 1938, she resigned from the fashion industry due to people and political conditions refusing to accept her label.

No matter how good you are and how much you love what you do. Setbacks are real for everyone.

Chanel was also affected by the same fate. After seeing French fashion become dominated by men, she made a bold comeback sixteen years later. It is never futile to focus on achieving goals. Her post-war collection was initially not well received by critics. The public loved it. Chanel closed her shop in 1939 at the start of the Second World War, stating that the war was not the time for fashion. In 1954, however, she returned to Paris to reopen her couture house. Her post-war label was not as successful in America or Britain, but it was more successful in France than America and Britain. Many Frenchmen still held her war record against them.
