Chetan Barboor

Chetan Baboor was born on (April 22, in the year 1974), is an Indian international Table Tennis champion and also the winner of the Arjuna Award for the year 1997- an award recognizing outstanding achievement in sports of India. Chetan has won four public titles and double golds in the Commonwealth Crowns. He also contended at the three Olympic Games, piecemeal from his sporting achievements, he has a Mechanical Engineering degree from Rashtriya Vidyalaya College of Engineering and an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

Personal Life:

Chetan Baboor was born on April 22, and year 1974, and belongs to the Babooru Kamme community of Holenarasipura, which is in Karnataka. Though born in North India, he has spent a considerable quantum of time in the southern and western corridors of the country. His inclination for the game started beforehand. His immense gift can be proven by the fact that at 16 times of age only, he became a member of the elderly public table tennis platoon. piecemeal from being a table tennis player, Baboor is a music sucker as well.

Career:

Baboor’s achievements at both the public and transnational circuits can be attributed to his stint in professional table tennis for the Swedish club Kalmar, where he spent about six times in the nineties. In Kalmar, a top division club, Baboor got to play alongside fabulous table tennis players like Jan Ove Waldner and the experience did a world of good to his game. On the transnational stage, Baboor represented India at the 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and 2000 Sydney Olympics, besides several editions of the World crowns, Commonwealth, South Asian Federation, and Asian crowns. Between 1998 and 2000, when Baboor was in the midst of a grandiloquent patch, he defeated Chinese 1996 Olympics mates gold quarterfinalist Liu Guoliang and Ma Wenge and the 1996 Olympics citation quarterfinalist Jorg Rosskopf (Germany). Baboor was conferred with the Arjuna Award, one of the loftiest mercenary awards in India in the time 1997.
